Hello All! I am new to this message board so I guess that makes me a virgin - but i am so excited to be able to ask my first questions and see what happens. I have been in the biz of truck lettering & signs for over 12 years in Queens NY. I am a girl & used to have a guy available to me for all the "stuff i couldn't really do myself" - well he re-located! But I really have to do something simple that I am sure I can handle myself so I just want to make sure I am doing it correctly so here goes...
I have to re-face some lightboxes and I remember when he would do these installations for me he made this interlocking thingy with strips of clear plastic so the 2 sections of plexi that made up the face wouldn't seperate & would stay together in the middle where they meet & touch. thats the first question - also for the same lightboxes the town ordinance says the background can not light up - only the letters themselves can illuminate - so is the best way to use blockout paint & mask the back - or block out vinyl(which is real expensive & i only have a 15" plotter - does it even come in 15" rolls) - what do all you great - intelligent - wonderful - experienced sign people think?
