Roland printer/cutters-are they practical??

I am in the early stages of opening my own shop and have been very overwhelmed by all the different equipment. I have been told not to get the printer/cutter, to buy the machines seperate. PLEASE anyone with experience with these machines let me know how you like them. Or if you just have an opinion on what equipment would be good to start out with it would be much appreciated. Thanks so much.

I prefer the separate pieces of equipment. If one goes down on the all-in-one, they both go down. With separate equipment, at least you can still run the other if one goes down...hopefully they both don't go down on the same day!

And can get into a good solvent printer w/separate cutter for a cheaper price than the Roland all-in-one. I'd recommend looking at the Mutoh ValueJet eco-solvent printer w/a Graphtec FC-7000 cutter. Great machines, excellent reputations, awesome technical support! The big key is to have a dealer behind you that understands color management and workflow. That'll save you a lot of headache!

If you're interested in more, check us out at, or email me at I'll give you some good assistance! Good luck!
