Date: June 04, 2009 02:38PM I need a professional advise from the sign industry people.
I am a sign company in brooklyn ny and we would like to get our first printer. Our needs are banners, and vinyl decals and vehicle wraps. Please advise us. Thanks Re: Wide format printer

Date: June 04, 2009 09:48PM Well, it really depends on your budget. If you want to be able to do not only banners but some direct to substrate stuff, then an Oce Arizona flatbed would make sense, although they are a bit pricey.
If you don't need to do flatbed items, then the Roland VersaCamm 54" is a nice printer, although it's output means it is definitely a small shop printer (takes about 20 minutes to print a 2'x6' banner on high speed. If you set it to standard or high quality, you can up to double that time). Again, it all depends on budget. Buy used if you can. You will also want to buy a laminator if you don't already have one.
