What Doesn't Work

I think it's great that people in our industry share ideas of what works...tricks of the trade so-to-speak.

I wonder if anyone agrees that it would be equally beneficial to share what doesn't work.

For example: signage engraved into rocks, black returns on channel letters with Casocryl (black/white) faces that look like a big blurr when viewed from any peripheral angle...how about sticking inserts on cut-out/backed up copy with double-faced tape...doesn't work. Hey, the amateurs that are out there attempting to do something 'creative' or what the 'customer wants' and don't do their research, give all of us a bad name.

I'd be very interested to hear from others...what doesn't work?
Thanks
