gold leaf/ metallized vinyl films/ simulated gold films

Newbie to the lettering business. I'm Looking for info on which product to use in freshwater marine applications, boat transoms. Too many manufacturers of simulated gold leaf/engine turn gold/etc... All say their product is superior to competitors but I have seen installations from other installers where the gold has faded after a couple seasons. The boating seasons are short in northern michigan (boats spend six months in storage). Fading in such a short time is unacceptable. Most folks don't want to pay for the 22karat products. Also, what is best practice for edge sealing metallized films. I am currently looking at the Creative Film Corporation Metallized Products and wonder if anyone has experience with their outdoor durability, color retention, etc...

I'd suggest using Creative Film, Joe Coburn has some outstanding products. Just follow their recommendations as to lamination or not given the actual application.

Best of luck.
Sean
