Need calculation for how deep to dip post holes for large signs...

Assuming I know the max windload/sq.ft. on a sign, how would I determine how deep I need to set posts to keep it from blowing over in gusts?

Rule of thumb is 1/3 the length of pole/post....You might want to check with city/town ordinance also. Depending where you are at they have rules concerning this issue. Sometimes you must be licensed to do it....In most states it is a law that you must call DIG SAFE first to check for wires and/or pipes. Big fines can be issued.
