SMARTVISION Completes 2001 Strong and Looks Forward to a Promising 2002

Ossining, New York January 8, 2002- In the fourth quarter of 2001 several high profile SMARTVISION projects were successfully completed, including those for Toys R Us’ International flagship store in the heart of New York’s Times Square, The NHL’s Edmonton Oilers, facility giant SMG and event marketing specialist GMR Marketing.

When Toys ‘R’ Us unveiled the world’s largest toy store in the heart of New York’s Times Square this past November, one of the most noticeable features was the 9’h X 48’w 15mm curved interactive SMARTVISION LED display jutting from the exterior. “This is the third SMARTVISION display in Times Square and maintains our accolade as having the most square footage of any LED manufacturer in this high profile location. “We are excited to be a significant part of Toys R Us history”, commented SACO Technologies Director Bassam Dib Jalbout.

SACO Technologies installed a very high profile SMARTVISION display for the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers at the beginning of the 2001 season. The Oilers incorporated four 9’h X 16’w 10mm SMARTVISION displays in the center-hung display at the Skyreach Centre in Edmonton, Canada. Gary Nalven, SACO Technologies Director commented, “We are very enthusiastic about further solidifying our presence in our strongest market segment, namely professional sports.”

SMG is one of SMARTVISION’s longest standing and strongest repeat customers having completed six projects. The London Arena, Long Beach Arena, New Orleans Arena, Sullivan Arena, The Sovereign Center, The Arena in Oakland and Van Andel Arena are all completed SMARTVISION projects for SMG. Most recently a 9’h X 16’w15mm display was installed at The Sovereign Center in Reading Pennsylvania, which is home to the ECHL’s Reading Royal’s as well as several family events. This fall another 9’h X 16’w 15mm display was installed for SMG at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage Alaska which hosts the WCHL’s Anchorage Aces, The University of Alaska’s Anchorage Seawolves in addition to several family entertainment events.

GMR Marketing, which specializes in unique event marketing, installed their third and fourth SMARTVISION screens respectfully. The two new 8’X10’ 15mm SMARTVISION displays are integrated into mobile vehicles for a major food conglomerate and The Dallas Cowboys, which were debuted this fall at several professional & collegiate football games. GMR also utilizes SMARTVISION displays in the mobile units they designed and constructed for the “Club MLB Road Show” and the “Volvo V70 Family Experience” which have successfully been touring the country since 1999. “Long standing repeat clients such as SMG & GMR Marketing attest to the true strength and durability of SMARTVISION products”, remarked SACO Technologies Director Susan-Anne Cosgrove.
