Roland Introduces Unique Package Prototyping Paper

Irvine, CA. March 22, 2002 Roland DGA Corporation today added a unique two-layer substrate to its package prototyping workflow. Called Heavyweight Matte Package Prototyping Paper (PCM-PPPM), it provides designers with a fast and easy way to create mock-ups of smaller package designs.

Simply RIP any box graphic with Roland ColorChoice® software and print and cut the entire design with the Roland CAMMJET. After removing the finished graphic from the machine, gently fold the box material to separate the box shape cleanly from its liner material.

"PCM-PPPM mock-ups look so good, people think they come from a large production run," said Laura Wilson, Roland Product Manager. "In-house marketing departments and graphic display houses will welcome this 10-mil paper with open arms."

The Roland TableTop Extension System is another valuable package prototyping tool. The accessory, which installs onto the CAMMJET or Hi-Fi JET PRO, keeps PCM-PPPM flat and straight during printing. PCM-PPPM comes in boxes of 50 23" x 35" sheets.

For bigger and heavier package prototypes, use the TableTop Extension System to print directly onto Roland custom matt or gloss card stock. Then, crease and cut the design with the Roland CT-304 flatbed cutter for a color-accurate, hi-resolution, precision-cut box.
