Atoglas unveils new channel letter colors For Implex® Plus impact resistant acrylic sheet
ORLANDO, FL, April 4, 2002 -- Atoglas today announced availability of Implex® Plus acrylic sheet in colors suitable for channel letters in the sign industry. The new Implex Plus colors debuted at the International Sign Association Expo, held here at the Orlando Orange County Convention Center this week. Aside from colorless sheet, Implex Plus colors now available include blue, green, three reds, yellow, orange, ivory, white, and black.
According to Tom DeMain, marketing manager, Implex Plus acrylic sheet has eight times the toughness of standard Plexiglas acrylic sheet. "Toughness and resiliency are important in fabricating, shop handling, shipping, and installing channel letters," he says. "Using our Implex Plus acrylic sheet, sign makers and handlers will be much less likely to chip, crack, and break channel letters. In addition," he says, "Implex Plus offers enhanced properties associated with machinability, fabrication, thermoforming, and painting. The Implex Plus denotes a special patented formulation designed to resist crazing caused by solvents."
DeMain adds that Implex Plus has all the desirable attributes of standard Plexiglas® acrylic sheet—such as excellent weatherability and optical clarity. "We've developed a proprietary continuous process for our impact resistant acrylic sheet grades," he says. "This process assures exceptional surface finish, optical quality, color consistency, and thickness uniformity."
Sheet sizes available include 100 inch lengths of 51- and 75-inch widths. Thicknesses are 0.118 inches (3 mm) and 0.177 inches (4.5 mm).
