MAGIC BRAND DIGITAL MEDIA INTRODUCES ITS NEW FLUOREX™ SYSTEM WARRANTY

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass, April 4, 2002 ­ Magic brand announced today its new Fluorex System Warranty (FSW) effective with select Magic banner and PSA vinyl media (12-months) and ink jet wallcovering (36-months) when finished with new Magic Fluorex Transfer Protection (DMFTP) for ink jet.

DMFTP is an ultra-thin, 4-micron transferable fluoropolymer designed for ink jet imaging which employs Magic’s unique Fluorex technology. DMFTP provides a protective finish that enhances the expected life of wide and grand format ink jet graphics and reduces the effects of UV light, surface contamination, surface abrasion and even graffiti.

Designed to protect ink jet graphics for indoor and outdoor applications, Magic DMFTP is an important technical breakthrough that presents new opportunities for commercial photo labs, service bureaus and other ink jet printing professionals. By introducing patented Fluorex brand protection as a finishing solution for ink jet graphics, DMFTP enables digital imaging pros to more easily and cost-effectively achieve high-quality protection backed with a warranty.

DMFTP’s thin and flexible Fluorex coating delivers maximum surface protection against stain, water, chemicals, graffiti and abrasion at a lower cost than cold laminates and without the challenges of liquid lamination. DMFTP is easily applied to a variety of ink jet products using heat roll laminators set at 250oF+ top/100oF+ bottom, 80-100 poss. and 2-3 ft./min. Because it is flexible, thin and durable (the film has a one-year life expectancy for outdoor applications), DMFTP is ideal for several ink jet-printed banners and PSA vinyls. It is also an excellent protection solution for wallcoverings printed on Magic latex-saturated papers for ink jet and grand format systems.

Warranty Coverage Details

Subject to the additional terms and limitations set forth in Rexam's written warranty policy, Rexam warrants during the applicable warranty period that select Rexam products, when used and applied in accordance with the applicable Rexam MagicÒ Application Guide and DMFTP Application Guide, will comply in all material respects with the applicable coverage specifications as set forth below.

• DMVB15 Scrim Banner used with the following printers and inks: HP Design Jet UV inks, Encad Pro GO Inks, for indoor or outdoor banner applications has a warranty period* of 12 months with the following coverage specifications: No appreciable fade or image deterioration due to staining, offset and abrasion from routine handling or exposure.
• Banner made with Tyvek® DMTB9 used with the following printers and inks: HP Design Jet UV inks, Encad Pro GO Inks, for indoor or outdoor banner applications has a warranty period* of 12 months with following coverage specifications: No appreciable fade or image deterioration due to staining, offset and abrasion from routine handling or exposure.
• Wet Strength Paper DMIBOP10 used with the following printers and inks: HP Design Jet UV Inks, Encad Pro GO Inks, for indoor banner applications has a warranty period* of 12 months with following coverage specifications: No appreciable fade or image deterioration due to staining, offset and abrasion from routine handling or exposure.
• Wet Strength Paper DMIBOP10 used with the following printers and inks: HP Design Jet UV Inks, Encad Pro GO Inks, for wallcovering applications has a warranty period* of 36 months with following coverage specifications: No appreciable fade or image deterioration due to staining or periodic washing.
• DMPPM7 used with the following printers and inks: HP Design Jet UV Inks, Encad Pro GO Inks, for indoor banner applications has a warranty period* of 12 months with following coverage specifications: No appreciable fade or image deterioration due to staining, offset and abrasion from routine handling or exposure.
• 5 Mil Adhesive Vinyl DMVLA5 used with the following printers and inks: HP Design Jet UV Inks, Encad Pro GO Inks, for indoor or outdoor vinyl display has a warranty period* of 12 months with following coverage specifications: No appreciable fade or image deterioration due to staining, offset and abrasion from routine handling or exposure.
