Onyx Graphics Releases Service Pack 1 for Onyx 5.6 Workflow Solutions Software
MIDVALE, Utah, Jul. 23, 2002 -- Onyx Graphics today released Service Pack 1 for its Onyx 5.6 Workflow Solutions. Included in Service Pack 1 are several new features for added flexibility and streamlining workflow.
Onyx 5.6 Workflow Solutions is a family of software packages designed to give users just the right level of productivity for their individual workflow environments. Onyx RIPCenter™, Onyx PosterShop(r), and Onyx ProductionHouse™ each feature a toolset and workflow that suits specific print segments, while satisfying user experience levels and prints volumes. All are all built on Onyx's core technology - a common Raster Image Processor (RIP) engine, print queue, and color management system - called Onyx RIP-Queue.
The following new features are included in Service Pack 1 and will affect customers with Onyx RIPQueue, Onyx PosterShop, and Onyx Production House.
- ICC Profile Generator Engine Update to Logo 4.0, offering users more control within the individual color tools, as well as improvements in the way the software handles ink limiting and black generation. Additionally, Profile Generator can now build ICC-based n-color profiles (CMYK + additional spot colors) for custom spot color jobs.
- Spot Color Matching now supports color measurement devices, such as densitometers and spectrophotometers, for adding user spot colors to the matching table.
- Job Log and Reporting enables on-screen viewing within the RIP-Queue, for a quick review of all jobs running, pending or just finished. The reporting function can export job logs that can be imported into an Excel spreadsheet or other accounting packages that accept delimited data files.
- Custom Screen Dot Patterns can now be created by the user for screen proofing and simulation. Screen configuration gives users total control over lpi, plate, frequency, angle and function, for dot patterns including Screen, Line Screen, Halftone and Ordered Dither.
- Direct TWAIN-32 scanner support is now available from the RIP-Queue user interface.
- Larger File Sizes are now supported; the maximum processed job size has been increased from 4-Gigabytes to 1-Terrabyte.
- Remote Proofing Support is now available through added support for the Adobe JDF (Job Definition Format) file format which is based on the XML standard.
- Additional Language Support has been added for Dutch, Korean, and Polish.
