Roland Unveils All New RIP Software for Pro II Series
Irvine, CA. October 7, 2002 Roland DGA Corporation today announced the release of Roland SelectColor(tm) (RSC) - a new, full-featured software RIP created especially for and bundled with Roland Pro II Series printers and printer/cutters.
"Roland SelectColor is an integral part of the new Pro II Series," said Rick Scrimger, Roland Senior Product Manager. "This exciting new RIP contains unique features you wouldn't expect to find in a bundled product. From signs and banners to fine art and photographic reproductions, Roland SelectColor will help you get the job done faster and easier."
The versatile RSC handles both printing and cutting, providing total control over the production process. It offers simultaneous RIP&Print capability and several powerful layout options, including tiling, grouping, and a choice of automatic or manual nesting. RSC also includes IntelligentPrintControl - a unique color control tool that has been pre-calibrated to automatically select the best dot size, firing speed and tone curve for each media. Designers simply select the ideal print mode, and RSC does the rest.
RSC for Windows 95, 98, 2000, Windows NT and Windows XP is available now. The Mac OS 10+ version will ship in December.

- Separate Color Rendering Intents (CRDs) for different PostScript elements.

- Nesting to get the most usage out of each roll of media.

Pro II Series
Introduced at Seybold 2002 in San Francisco, the Roland Pro II Series of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters come with blazing speed and legendary Roland quality. The Pro II Series can print up to 300 sqft/hr at 450 dpi. Roland developed this unique print mode especially for the production of signs, exhibits and POP displays.
