Roland DGA Corp To Exhibit the SOLJET Pro II printer/cutter at SGIA
St. Louis, MO. - October 28, 2002 - Roland DGA Corporation today announced plans to exhibit the all-new SOLJET Pro II printer/cutter for the first time at this week's SGIA show.
"The SOLJET Pro II printer/cutter is one of the most advanced and versatile inkjets on the market, and SGIA represents the first opportunity to really check it out," said Rick Scrimger, Roland Senior Product Manger. "The wide format solvent device prints with blazing speed and legendary Roland quality. It even includes the versatile Roland SelectColor(tm) Software RIP, which provides total control over the production process."
With more than 100 technical enhancements, the Pro II Series can print up to 300 sqft/hr at 450 dpi to produce POP displays, signs, banners and exhibits. It can also print up to 1440 x 1440 dpi with a huge color gamut for fine art reproduction and photography. Roland achieves this remarkable combination of speed and resolution with multiple high-speed CPUs, a built-in multitasking operating system and a bundled state-of-the-art software RIP.
Using Roland SOL INK (a unique, low-volatile solvent), the SOLJET Pro II requires no special ventilation or environmental equipment. Signmakers can breathe easy while printing signs and banners that will last up to three years outdoors.* Roland supports SOL INK with an extensive selection of compatible media.
The SOLJET Pro II, like the CAMMJET Pro II, can automatically contour cut printed graphics without reloading or repositioning. For laminating graphics, simply remove prints, laminate and reload them for precision cutting. A four-point optical registration system called Quadralign(tm) (an industry first) automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion. The CAMMJET Pro II and SOLJET Pro II can also function as stand-alone vinyl cutters.
Other Pro II inkjets include the SOLJET Pro II printer, Hi-Fi JET Pro II printer and CAMMJET Pro II printer/cutter. As with all Roland inkjets, they offer years of reliable service, even in the most demanding shop environments. Roland built each one with solid construction and enhancements for precise media control. Roland also incorporated new print head maintenance systems for unmatched mechanical reliability.

Roland SelectColor RIP
The Roland SelectColor (RSC) Software RIP comes bundled with all Pro II Series printers and printer/cutters. RSC offers simultaneous RIP & Print capability and several powerful layout options, such as tiling, grouping, and a choice of automatic or manual nesting. It also includes Intelligent Print Control - a unique color control tool that has been pre-calibrated to automatically select the best dot size, firing speed and tone curve for each media. Designers simply select the ideal print mode, and RSC does the rest.
The SOLJET SC-540 ships in November. The CAMMJET CJ-540 will ship in November. The SOLJET SJ-540, Hi-Fi JET PRO II FJ-540 and SOLJET SJ-740 are now shipping. Leasing options are available on all Roland products.
