Scanvec Amiable PhotoPRINT 3 now bundled with GretagMacbeth Eye-One Pro for Large Format Digital Printing Professionals

Philadelphia, PA, October 30, 2002 ­ Scanvec Amiable, a global leader in graphics software solutions, and GretagMacbeth, worldwide technological leader in color measurement and management solutions, announced today the availability of the PhotoPRINT 3 RIP software solutions bundled with the Eye-One Pro spectrophotometer. This strategic alliance places Scanvec Amiable in an excellent market position to provide a complete, high quality and accurate large format digital printing software solution, at an attractive price.

Initially, the Eye-One will support Scanvec Amiable RIP software solutions in linearizing large format printers to achieve optimum printing results. Additionally, the Eye-One can be used with Scanvec Amiable RIP software solutions to create ICC Profiles. This provides the user quick and unlimited flexibility in testing and utilizing new media.

Another highly useful feature to using both Scanvec Amiable RIP software solutions and the Eye-One is the capability to measure a color on virtually any surface and automatically import that color to your working color palette for immediate use. The color is created in LAB providing the user accurate color mapping to their printer/media/ink combination.

New color management functionalities planned to be added to Scanvec Amiable RIP software early in 2003 that will take full advantage of Eye-One’s spectral measurement capabilities. Accurate and effective color management is vital as creative professionals take on digital printing, digital photography, digital proofing, signmaking and screenprinting.

The award-winning GretagMacbeth Eye-One Pro device measures in both reflective and transmissive modes, quickly and accurately scans color patches, and measures both CRT and flat panel displays.
