First preview of the new NUR Ultima HiQ series
The new NUR Ultima HiQ series of photorealistic printers for medium volume production
printing will join the NUR Macroprinters product family early next year. The new NUR Ultima mid-range machines are designed to provide high levels of productivity while offering simplified maintenance procedures and improved ease-of-use. They are also designed to provide reduced ink consumption to ensure low operating expenses in high speed printing modes. The new models feature apparent print
resolution up to 600 dpi for high quality and are capable of speeds up to 810 square feet (76 square meters) per hour for high throughput. Two NUR Ultima models will be available: the NUR Ultima HiQ 3200 (10.5 feet/3.2m wide) and the NUR Ultima HiQ 5000 (16 feet/5m wide).
The new 16-foot (5-meter) NUR Ultima HiQ 5000 model marks NUR Macroprinters' renewed focus on superwide printing applications. It features enhancements NUR developed based on its experience gained from the many NUR Salsa Ultima 5000 machines installed worldwide. It also leverages NUR's core expertise in superwide printing acquired over time from the NUR Blueboard™ series, the best selling
5-meter superwide printing systems in the world. The new features in the NUR Ultima HiQ 5000 include an advanced material handling mechanism and tighter control over material stepping. This in turn results in a high reliability and better color registration without banding to deliver even higher quality.
Says Ron Michael, vice president of marketing at NUR Macroprinters Ltd., “Our new NUR Ultima HiQ series printers are aimed at helping our customers to move up to even higher output volumes and productivity while retaining the quality and photorealism they need. We believe they'll help them expand their services
and pursue the many new business opportunities that photorealistic, wide format digital printing provides.”
Michael adds, “Our NUR Blueboard product line has long made us a leader in superwide,
5-meter digital printing. We've combined this in-depth knowledge of superwide needs with some of the features of our proven, NUR Fresco line - its robust ink system and proprietary PrinTop control software - to ensure the new NUR Ultima
HiQ 5000 can meet the challenges of today's superwide printing arena.”
Additional key features in the new NUR Ultima HiQ series include:
1.) NUR Macroprinters' proven and user-friendly NUR PrinTop™ operating software for high throughput and performance
2.) Enhanced printhead assembly for simplified maintenance, providing a full printhead
warranty*, and low operating costs
3.) Robust ink system for consistent quality and color at high production speeds
4.) Easy changeover from 4-color to 8-color mode for increased versatility and efficiency without set-up delays
5.)True White-skip function (in both printing axes) for jobs requiring maximized efficiency
*subject to terms of warranty
Beta testing of the new NUR Ultima HiQ machines will begin in the fourth quarter of 2002. Commercial availability is expected in March 2003. The NUR Ultima HiQ 3200 will have a list price of US$329,000 and the NUR Ultima HiQ 5000 (16 feet wide) will have a list price of US$399,000. Following NUR Macroprinters' practice of providing upgrade paths for its current customers, an upgrade kit, priced
at US$60,000, will also be available enabling current NUR Salsa™ users to enhance their machines to NUR Ultima HiQ level.
X-Press 100 printing mode means even higher productivity for NUR Fresco HiQ series
Screen printers looking for even more cost effective printing of longer production
runs and volume-oriented digital print service providers that need increased productivity to handle more volume and peaks in demand will benefit from the new X-Press100 printing mode NUR Macroprinters is announcing for its popular
NUR Fresco product line.
This new 4-color printing mode extends the productivity and versatility of the NUR Fresco photorealistic production printers even further to accommodate long print runs and 'round the clock' high volume production environments. Applications suitable for the X-Press 100 printing mode include billboards, outdoor banners and any mesh application such as building murals, construction covering and wallscapes.
The X-Press100 mode will be available in early December 2002. It will be included with all new NUR Fresco HiQ and NUR Fresco HiQ 8C printers shipped and existing NUR Fresco HiQ 8C customers will receive the new mode free of charge. An upgrade kit for all 4-color NUR Fresco HiQ printers in the field will be available at a price of US$45,000. The upgrade package includes a new printhead assembly,
new operating system and RIP software, and new color profiles to support the X-Press100 mode.
“The new X-Press100 mode takes the NUR Fresco product line a notch up in productivity
helping to further redefine the production printing arena,” says Itay Shalit, director of product management at NUR macroprinters. “Joining our newly announced
NUR Ultima HiQ line of printers for the mid-range of the market and the entry level NUR Salsa Ultima line, the NUR Fresco models with the X-Press100 mode complete a three tier product offering that gives our customers a choice of productivity levels without having to compromise on photorealistic image quality.”
NUR Tempo flatbed digital press prints on rigid and flexible materials.
Also at SGIA '02, NUR America is demonstrating the production configuration of the flatbed, digital inkjet press that NUR Macroprinters first unveiled in prototype form earlier this year. The NUR Tempo will soon begin beta testing with commercial shipments planned for the second quarter of 2003.
Designed to meet the needs of wide-format screen printers, the NUR Tempo will print on a wide variety of both rigid and flexible materials including corrugated board, fluted polypropylene, PVC, glass, polycarbonate and standard rolled media. The NUR Tempo is designed to eliminate the extra steps involved in lamination and cutting/trimming processes common to other traditional methods of printing
graphics on rigid surfaces. In addition, it can be connected to stackers and feeders as in the “stop-load-print” paradigm of conventional printing.
“We've worked in close collaboration with many screen printers and digital print service providers to ensure the NUR Tempo will truly meet their needs,” says Ron Michael, vice president of marketing at NUR Macroprinters Ltd.. “The positive feedback we've received since first showing a prototype of the machine at FESPA earlier this year is further proof that the NUR Tempo will be the right solution
for the screen printing industry's needs and challenges.”
Key features in the new NUR Tempo include:
1.) UV-curable inks for the flexibility to print on almost any type of substrate
2.) A 6 ˝ ft. x 10 ˝ ft. (2 x 3.2m) table providing the versatility to handle most
of the common applications in the OOHA market
3.) Accommodates both rigid and rolled substrates for fast and easy changeover
between the two modes
4.) Both 4- and 8-color printing modes delivering high speed and photorealistic
image quality with easy changeover between modes
5.) Full encapsulation to ensure a comfortable working environment
New substrates and Billboard PowerPack from NMS
To illustrate the breadth of NUR Media Solutions' capabilities and consumables
products and to complement the equipment demonstrations in the NUR America booth
at SGIA '02, all of the machines are running live demonstrations of a wide variety of application samples, sizes and substrates. Two new substrates featured at the show include: NURPAPER™ BlueBack Wet-Strength and NURSAV™ MicroPerforated Window Film. NMS is also introducing its new Billboard PowerPack that includes a new PVC substrate, NURFLEXTM iSpeed Frontlit Light, and new inks that have been specially developed to deliver an improved gamut and optimal results for billboard printing applications on the new media.
