Visual Communication Italy 2002 confirms its leading position in Europe

Visual Communication Italy 2002 was the biggest and busiest show of the year, full of novelties, new technologies and creative applications.

14,199 attendees filled the aisles of the 2002 edition. 226 direct exhibitors from 23 countries showed over 25,000-m2 exhibition space, the latest application solutions offered to today’s modern graphic producer.

59 new suppliers to the industry who joined the ranks of Visual Communication exhibitors made the already extensive range of products for the sign making, digital printing, screen printing and engraving industry even more complete.

With an attendance increase of 7% over last year and an exhibitor increase of 6,6% Visual Communication confirms its leading position in Europe. Foreign visitors attendance was up 18,9% with a strong participation from the Mediterranean Basin.

Highlights of the exhibition were the new flat-beds, solvent plotters, LED and plasma panels, high speed numerical controlled engraving and milling systems, high speed scanning equipment, software for reverse engineering and laser equipment. The screen printing section, Seriprint, excelled with the latest generation of four colour screen printing machinery and the latest CTS technology.

The seminar programme reflected the various segments of Visual Communication and attracted a total of 616 participants :

    Neon: 104 participants
    Screen printing : 90 participants
    Engraving 2002: 104 participants
    Digital Printing 2002: 308 participants

The unexpected high number of participants challenged the seating capacity of the conference room and yet many participants were willing to stand up to follow the presentation given by DP&V Associates, one of Italy’s leading advertising agency specialized in POP advertisement, on how they offer the media LFDP (Large Format Digital Publicity) to their clients and how they profit from it.

Communication with “Lighting “

The event within Visual communication 2002 that attracted more than 5,000 visitors. Lighting as means of communication. 3M Light Management in cooperation with Reed Visual Italia demonstrated during this event how “lighting” is gradually becoming a new way of communicating also for commercial messages. This event gave to the luminous sign sector of Visual Communication a new dimension.

The next edition of VISUAL COMMUNICATION Italy will take place November 14 - 16, 2003 in Milan, FIERA MILANO.
