New Gerber InstaChange™ Reflective Film Combines Day/Night Visibility with Easy Removal

LAS VEGAS ­ Promotional graphics with round-the-clock visibility are now a reality for GERBER EDGE ® owners, thanks to Gerber Scientific Products and its innovative new InstaChange Reflective Film.

Developed primarily for outdoor applications, InstaChange Reflective is the first material to offer the thermal imaging industry three distinct advantages: 24-hour promotional capabilities, easy-to-remove adhesive, and wide-angle reflectivity. This unique feature set makes it suitable for diverse usage, including delivery truck or leased vehicle markings, storefront and seasonal graphics, event and off-street directional signage, and novelty decals, emblems, and bumper stickers.

“InstaChange Reflective is a 3M ™ -built film developed exclusively for Gerber to meet the growing demand of EDGE ® owners looking to create graphics with exceptional visibility and the ability to change the message periodically,” explained Gary Soltoff, marketing product manager, Gerber Scientific Products. “The material’s innate wide-angular reflective quality allows signage and markings to be easily seen from multiple viewpoints, day or night ­ even in inclement weather, since the film retains 90 percent of its reflectivity when wet. The film’s InstaChange adhesive system adds to its appeal, he noted, by enabling graphics to be easily removed within 18 months without the use of chemicals or abrasive mechanical means, and with little or no heat. As a result, business owners “can keep their promotional messages fresh and relevant,” he said, “while EDGE users benefit from the product’s niche market potential.”

That potential is further enhanced when InstaChange Reflective is used as a graphic foundation with GerberColor ™ Process Series Foils and Gerber’s 11 Transparent Series Foils, according to Soltoff.

“The transparent characteristics of these 15 foils allow the film’s retro-reflectivity to rebound through the printed graphic for maximum nighttime impact,” he advised. “In addition, EDGE owners can also rely on our 43 GerberColor Spot foils for use with InstaChange Reflective.”

InstaChange Reflective is a white reflective film, and is intended for promotional-grade applications only. It represents the latest addition to Gerber’s growing portfolio of more than 30 EDGE READY ™ materials that can be printed directly from the EDGE thermal transfer color imaging system.
