Gerber Introduces Industry’s First Printable Red, Blue and Platinum Medal Foils - New Colors Create Premium Graphics with Dramatic Mirror Finish

LAS VEGAS ­ Gerber Scientific Products, the leader in thermal digital imaging technology, is once again proving its reputation as an innovator… this time with three new breakthrough medal foils designed to add unprecedented sizzle to point-of-purchase graphics, decals, labels, and interior and short-term exterior signage.

Called GerberColor™ Red Medal, GerberColor Blue Medal and GerberColor Platinum Medal Series Foils, the company’s latest material release is described by Gary Soltoff, marketing product manager, Gerber Scientific Products, as “hot new colors devised to help GERBER EDGE® owners add impact to a variety of signage.”

Explaining these foils shatter the traditional notion that printable mirror-finish foils are limited to silver and gold, he said, “EDGE® users will no longer be restricted to typical gold and silver when incorporating medals into their graphics. The advent of our Red, Blue and Platinum Medals Series Foils allows designers to transform ordinary spot graphics into bold, eye-catching signs, while expanding their conventional medal usage.”

He continued, “Medal Series Foils are, by their very nature, highly opaque and can be printed onto even the darkest vinyl without affecting the color of the printed foil. EDGE owners can therefore achieve vibrant results with a broad range of materials without the need for double-hitting or priming, thereby saving money and time.”

Whether used as an accent or to form the graphics in full, Gerber’s new medal foils add a shiny, mirror-like quality to any finished piece. This makes them ideal for upscale interior graphics such as in-store point-of-purchase, nameplates, emblems, logos or decals, as well as short-term outdoor event promotion and directional signage.
