FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Drytac’s New Overlaminate Imparts a Realistic Canvas Texture to Standard Prints

(Richmond, VA) With digital fine art printing sustaining a growth trend, graphics producers continue to search for better and more economical methods of simulating original works on canvas. Typically, creating digital artworks on canvas has required printing directly on costly specialty canvases, or the labor-intensive process of transferring the image to canvas. As an alternative, Drytac has introduced a new, more deeply textured overlaminate that simulates the look of coarse canvas on standard coated paper prints.

New MediaShield CanvastexTM UV 10.0 mil is a heavier weight, vinyl overlaminate film with an embossed canvas matte finish. According to the company, the film’s newly enhanced texture provides a convincing canvas simulation when laminated to paper art prints. In addition, Canvastex UV protects the print from UV image degradation, moisture and pollution. Developed for portrait photography, Giclee and certificates, Canvastex is also recommended for adding texture to flatbed inkjet prints on foamboard and other substrates.

The Canvastex HeatSetTM adhesive system makes the film easy to apply with a heated roller laminator. The low-heat system offers initial low tack for easy positioning, but sets to a permanent bond after processing. Canvastex is available in standard 51-inch format rolls, as well as smaller widths as custom orders.

Drytac also plans to release a pressure-sensitive version of MediaShield CanvastexTM UV 10.0 in early Fall.
