Announcing…A New SGIA/DPI Digital Printing Conference with Exhibits to be held in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2004

SGIA and DPI are actively working to expand membership and increase industry support. The scope of the printing and Imaging community is global ­ as is the Association that represents it.

Recently, we took a step that strengthened our commitment to the global imaging community and our membership growth efforts.

I am pleased to announce that ­ with the approval of the SGIA Executive Committee ­ SGIA/DPI has signed a letter of intent with Promotion Projects BV of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Together, we will produce a series of digital printing events and enhance member benefits and services in Europe.

The DPI Executive Committee will be actively involved in these projects, working with SGIA staff and Promotion Projects to evaluate opportunities and develop proposals, budgets and implementation plans for our European outreach efforts.

Our initial project is a series of educational events with exhibits, to be held in Amsterdam and primarily, but not solely, focus on large-format digital printing. We’re finalizing dates for the first quarter of 2004 and we will have complete details very soon.

With more than 23 years as a trade show/exhibition organizer in the large format imaging field, Promotion Projects is well acquainted with the markets we serve and the technologies we support and is uniquely qualified to work with SGIA/DPI to increase our involvement in Europe.

As we build our relationship with Promotion Projects, we believe our cooperative efforts will help many exhibitors extend their reach and help many printers improve their capabilities.

Exhibiting at the SGIA/DPI Digital Printing Conference will provide an unparalleled opportunity to reach producers of signage, point-of-purchase, display graphics and similar imaged products well suited to digital printing. We also anticipate the participation of many attendees just adding digital printing to their imaging capabilities.

While digital printing plays a part in other expositions in Europe, digital printing, and the successful use of these technologies, will be the main focus of the SGIA/DPI Conference
