Cromos de Mexico SA de CV installs a PressVu® UV to serve high profile clients

Cromos de Mexico SA de CV has recently installed a VUTEk® PressVu® UV 180/600 EC flatbed printer, at it's Monterrey, Mexico, premises to widen its range of services. The eight-color printer will be used to produce point-of-purchase and display graphics for a range of high profile clients including, British American Tobacco, Viacom Outdoor, Home Depot, IBC and Cemex.

Joining Cromos' two VUTEk® UltraVu® 5300 and two UltraVu® 2360 SC printers, the PressVu® UV 180/600 EC will be used in its work for over 600 clients, including advertising agencies and many leading US chain stores ome DepotHo. Currently printing most indoor and outdoor signage for over 500 Wal-Mart stores in Mexico, Cromos and its PressVu® UV 180/600 EC will be used to produce hanging and display graphics, while its two- and five-meter printers will produce large banners and perimeter signage for the US retail giant.

With a vast amount of graphics being produced for each store, the range of different promotional items varies in size from small point of sale items to big 8m x 30m graphics.

Adrian Garcia, Cromos CEO, comments, 'The VUTEk® PressVu® UV 180/600 EC has enabled us to enter new markets. Since we are now able to print on a wide range of rigid substrates, we complement our existing screenprinting department and offer something new to our clients. However, with the added flexibility of digital printing we are able to vary the graphics to produce unique images - from 1 print to many hundreds. This makes it ideal for POP work, where each graphic can be different, and allowing for targeted regional promotion, to be enjoyed.'

The VUTEk® PressVu® UV 180/600 EC is an eight-color digital printer, able to print on both rigid and flexible substrates up to 1.8 meters (72") wide. Producing images with resolution up to 600 dpi, the PressVu® UV is designed to deliver stunning photo quality prints, with fine line and text detail. Using UV-curable inks, the PressVu® UV 180/600 EC allows a wide range of substrate selection with little variation in output appearance.

Adrian explains, 'VUTEk® printers produce consistently high quality graphics. As we are able to select different resolution settings on the PressVu® UV 180/600 EC, we can alter the quality of print to suit each application, whether we are printing huge banners or small POP displays. Utilizing the high speed capability of our VUTEk® machines, we are able to print up to 5000 square meters of graphics per day without compromising quality.'

Further utilizing the benefits of its UltraVu® 5300 five-meter printers, in less than a week, Cromos was able to print and weld a 1200 square-meter building wrap for the Spanish communications company, Terra. The wrap was printed on vinyl and installed on the Mol Del Valle Shopping Center building, in Monterrey.
