Affordable Solvent Printer is Reporting Record Sales in the U.S. Market

Salt Lake City, Utah ----Display Imaging Solutions is setting-up nationwide sales offices throughout the country. Display Imaging Solutions, Inc., a U. S. Distributor for the D.G.I. printer, reports record sales of the latest large-format true solvent printer to hit the U.S. market. D.G.I., a Korean-based company, unveiled several new printers at the I.S.A. (International Sign Association) trade show in Las Vegas last April.

Unlike mild and eco-solvent printers, the D.G.I. solvent printer is able to print directly on uncoated substrates, such as vinyl banner material, flexible sign face, PVC and adhesive-backed vinyl without risk of fading or washing off. The heavy-duty automated feed and take-up system is designed to handle extra-large rolls of media, without special use of notched rolls.

“With the entry level model, a 62-inch wide printer, even small sign shops can afford to compete in today’s rapidly changing market,” remarked Rocky Raymond, President of Display Imaging Solutions, Inc. Raymond added, “Since you don’t have to laminate with this printer, total printing costs start at less than .30 cents a square foot for full-coverage. We use a bulk-ink system instead of expensive proprietary cartridges. Some larger sign companies are discovering that the heavy-duty VT 100D model, that prints up to 103” wide, is a perfect solution for printing flexible sign faces without spending a quarter-of-a-million dollars for a printer.”

As an added feature, D.G.I. has perfected a print head docking system that eliminates problems with the heads drying out as experienced by other printers currently on the market. The “five-minute set-up” and “five-minute take-down” allows the heads to be cleaned with the flip of a switch.

D.G.I. expects to release a flatbed U.V. printer by the end of this year along with an eight- head oil-based ink jet printer. Display Imaging Solutions, Inc. currently offers six different models of the D.G.I. printer.
