VUTEk® reloads to take on the Matrix

Polish-based large format specialist, Opinion, has used its VUTEk® UltraVu® 5300 to print graphics for the Polish premier of Hollywood's latest blockbuster film, 'Matrix Reloaded'. Measuring 10m x15m, the poster printed on mesh, was used to promote the film to Polish celebrities from the music, media and theatrical industries, attending the first night showing at the Silver Screen Cinema.

Marek Waliszak, one of the Opinion partners said of the project, 'Our VUTEk® UltraVu® 5300 was ideal for this job. Its high speed operation and consistent high quality meant we were able to carry out this job quickly, and to a very high standard. The result was excellent and because the machine has an output of up to five meters wide, we were able to print the four-color Matrix Reloaded mesh in only a few hours with no problems at all.'

Opinion, which brought its VUTEk® UltraVu® 5300 two and a half years ago, is now a market leader and was the first company in Poland with a five meter printer. Marek explains why he and his partners wanted the VUTEK® UltraVu® 5300, 'We chose VUTEk® printer because we wanted to buy the best machine on the market. Offering our customers the ability to print onto a wide variety of substrates was a key factor, and one that has enabled us to produce graphics for a variety of applications. The UltraVu® 5300 has proved to be flexible, reliable and trustworthy - it produces excellent graphics and has allowed us to expand our market.'

The company now has extensive experience of printing large format internal and external graphics. Its expertise in printing on mesh and many other applications made it the ideal company to print the Matrix Reloaded graphics. Another recent job saw Opinion print 400 square meters of mesh for the international cosmetics company Oriflame. Oriflame were extremely pleased with the results and has since commissioned further work.

Another area where Opinion excels is printing vehicle graphics for trucks. One client that continually returns because of the high quality graphics that the UltraVu® 5300 produces, is Polish soft drinks manufacturer Ustronianka. A recent project saw five large canvases totaling 400 square meters, printed and applied to trucks in just a few days.

Established in 1992 as a small market research bureau, the company began to sell outdoor advertising two years later. Realizing that there was a gap in the market, Opinion decided to specialize in advertising and bought its own billboards to rent. Without its own printing capabilities, Opinion had to buy print from other companies, but later realized that the most cost effective option was to have its own printing facility. In 1999 it bought its first printer, and four years on is a leading supplier of advanced solutions for the outdoor and indoor advertising markets.

Opinion has already come a long way, but as Marek explains, 'There is always room to grow. We are now looking to work more with the end customer, as opposed to being commissioned by advertising agencies. We have already worked with customers in Germany and Austria for several years and want to expand this client base. Increasingly we are targeting international customers and know that we can offer them comprehensive services tailored to their needs at very competitive prices. It is because of our VUTEk® UltraVu® 5300 printer that we are able to do this.'
