FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At SGIA 2003 in Atlanta/USA Zünd demonstrates the improved UVjet 215-C and a complete digital workflow for printing and cutting.
Since the official release at Viscom Germany in 2001, the Zünd UVjet 215-C has become the world’s best selling digital flatbed printer. More than 200 UVjets are in operation and Zünd is now able to offer a more versatile UVjet at an attractive price. Productivity has been increased and the overall price/performance ratio remains unsurpassed.
With over 60 installations in the UK alone it was almost expected to see a certain saturation. However, the recent user forum in the UK with some 110 attendees confirmed that digital flatbed printing continues to open new opportunities and that this is still just the beginning.
The UVjet 215-C offers greatly reduced production costs for almost every indoor and outdoor graphic application as well as endless opportunities for new and often more profitable applications.
For example architects, interior/exterior designers and event managers have been waiting for a technology that would enable them to personalize standard flooring, wall and ceiling materials. Many have already capitalized on this by printing decorations on materials like glass, wood, stone, ceramics, etc. Items from wooden wine boxes to a swimming pool made of 12,000 ceramic tiles have been personalized.
This year Zünd is demonstrating the latest improvements of the UVjet 215-C as well as a complete digital workflow for printing and cutting.
More print jobs are converted from traditional to digital printing and as digital printers become faster, the bottleneck is often shifted to finishing of the print. Just in time delivery means very little room for errors but while companies have invested heavily in equipment for fast digital printing, in contradiction it is often a person trimming the print, with a steel rule and a knife, -just in time for dispatch.
By combining the multifunctional range of the Zünd cutting plotters, i-cut vision software and the latest version of Onyx Postershop, a complete digital workflow for printing and finishing is achieved.
Digital finishing includes trimming as well as contour cutting of all printed materials. Regardless of printer type and technology, rigid or roll to roll, some typical benefits are: Increased printer productivity, less material waste, reduced labour, no human errors, less need for reprints and an overall consistent quality.
In short, Zünd digital print and cut solutions mean: Increased throughput at a high consistent quality at a lower cost.
