Océ Launches Durable, Economical Scrim Vinyl and PSA Vinyl for Outdoor Applications
Products Offer Excellent Scratch and Abrasion Resistance for Pigment Inkjet Systems
Chicago, IL, Oct. 29, 2003 Océ, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, introduces two new display graphics products: Océ Outdoor Ultra-Durable Scrim Vinyl Banner and Océ Outdoor Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Vinyl. These media are designed for use with aqueous pigmented inks where high durability is required.
Outdoor Durable and Economical Scrim Vinyl
Océ Outdoor Ultra-Durable Scrim Vinyl Banner (OBSCRM19) offers an inkjet-receptive coating that is compatible with aqueous pigmented inks. It boasts the most durable inkjet coating on the market, making it highly scratch resistant for long-lasting graphics. Its quick drying time enables unattended printing. The bright white base ensures the widest color gamut available from pigmented ink sets, and its scrim layer completely blocks out light.
For inkjet systems running only aqueous pigmented inks, this medium is a more economical choice with a cost savings of up to 15 percent over universal media that accepts both dye and pigments inks. With select pigmented ink sets, its outdoor life expectancy is up to 12 months without lamination making it well suited for both indoor and outdoor use (i.e. banner and signage applications such as POP displays, presentations/ trade show exhibits, and hanging banners). Océ Outdoor Ultra-Durable Scrim Vinyl is very strong, enabling it to hold up well to wind or mechanical abuse, and it can be easily sewn or grommeted.

Repositionable Outdoor PSA with Permanent Adhesive
Océ Outdoor Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Vinyl (OVAP6PS) is a flexible white, calendered vinyl with a matte inkjet receptive coating, designed to work with aqueous thermal and aqueous piezo pigmented inks. It features a clear repositionable adhesive that is permanent upon final application. The robust coating can accept more ink than competitive products delivering rich, full colors.
