New ISA Staff Additions To Continue High Professional Level
Alexandria, VA (November 6, 2003) The International Sign Association (ISA) added in October a quartet of new faces to its staff, each with proven track records in the corporate world.
ISAs new vice president of marketing, membership and affiliated associations is Ed Troha, a former smallbusiness owner in Indianapolis. Before coming to ISA, Troha was president, owner and founder of MarketAbility, Inc., a vendor of businesstobusiness telemarketing services serving statewide business associations and local chambers of commerce.
Troha brings his business acumen to ISA to boost the effectiveness of the associations trade shows. My mission is to deliver the best trade show in the industry,he says. My job is to connect buyers with sellers. For the sellers, I want ISA to be the place for market access the premier trade show. For the sign companies, I want us to be the No. 1 place for networking and education. I want everyone in the sign industry to come to us to see and touch the newest in products and technology.
ISA also hired Lois Miller as director of exhibitor services. Miller will sell exhibitor booth space for the associations yearly trade exposition and regional shows and grow ISAs sponsorship revenue. Before coming to ISA, Miller served as vice president of the Luggage and Leather Goods Manufacturers of America for 15 years. She was responsible for the operation, management, development and sales of the companys trade show.
New to ISAs executive office is Marta Patterson, who is now executive assistant to the associations president and CEO. Patterson brings to the position 16 years of experience as a corporate coordinator and managerial support. Before coming to ISA, Patterson, a native of the Chicago area, was senior executive assistant to the CEO of NeuStar, a spinoff of LockheedMartin that functions as a clearinghouse for communications and Internet services. She is also a Certified Event Planner.
Also joining ISA is Chuck Jones, the associations new staff writer. Jones has been a professional journalist for nearly 22 years. Before joining the association, he was a magazine writer and senior editor for more than 19 years at Advisor Today, a national monthly magazine published by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Hes won eight awards for feature writing over the last decade.
Communicating what your organization is about and how it can help its members is important to every association,Jones says. You have to get your message out not only to your members, but to people in all aspects of the business and commercial world. ISA wants to reach everyone in the retail trade that uses signsand thats every business in the world.
All these folks have proven, longterm track records,says Dean Garritson, ISAs president and CEO. They are strong additions to the association staff.
