Roland Introduces Eco-SOL Media
Irvine, CA. November 19, 2003 Roland DGA Corporation today announced the availability of Eco SOL Media - a new lineup of cost-effective, uncoated media. Roland specially developed Eco-SOL Media to yield excellent print results with VersaCAMM and SOLJET EX Series inkjets.
"Eco-SOL Media ensures that our customers get quality print results on uncoated media," said Laura Wilson, Roland product manager. "We specially selected each substrate to yield the best possible results with Roland Eco-SOL INK. Nobody wants to waste time and money on bad prints."
Eco-SOL Media includes a wide selection of competitively priced, uncoated adhesive backed vinyls along with other popular substrates. The lineup currently consists of glossy calendared vinyl with permanent adhesive, matte calendared vinyl with permanent adhesive, premium cast vinyl with permanent adhesive, premium reflective vinyl with permanent adhesive, clear calendared vinyl with permanent adhesive, view-through vinyl with removable adhesive, calendared wrap vinyl with removable adhesive, translucent calendared vinyl with removable adhesive, flame retardant scrim banner, and blockout scrim banner.
These media are competitively priced. The clear calendered vinyl with permanent adhesive, for example, has a list price of $105.95 for a 54" x 75' roll. It costs 31 cents per square foot. In the near future, Roland will expand the Eco-SOL Media lineup with more low-cost products, such as paper and film. These products will continue to optimize performance of Eco-SOL INK and Roland inkjet printers.
VersaCAMM
The VersaCAMM is ideal for producing signs, banners and posters. The 30-inch inkjet printer/cutter uses an integrated media heating system and advanced Eco-SOL INK to print a wide range of durable, full-color graphics without any need for ventilation. Eco-Sol INK is both safe to use and virtually odor free.
The VersaCAMM can automatically contour cut printed graphics without reloading or repositioning them and also functions as a stand-alone vinyl cutter. This combination of printing and cutting in a single device significantly improves production speed and ease of use.
EX Series
EX Series inkjets can print up to 1440 x 1440 dpi with huge color gamut for fine art reproduction and photography. The wide format inkjets can also print up to 300 sqft/hr at 450 dpi to produce POP displays, signs, banners, and exhibits. Roland achieves this remarkable combination of speed and resolution with multiple high-speed CPUs, a built-in multitasking operating system and bundled state-of-the-art RIP software.
SOLJET EX printers and printer/cutters use Eco-SOL ink to print water-, scratch-, and UV-resistant outdoor graphics. Print/cut models can automatically contour cut printed graphics without reloading or repositioning them and also function as a stand-alone vinyl cutter.
