ISA Announces Results of Board of Director Election: Five New Members Elected to the 2004-2006 Board of Directors

Alexandria, VA (December 29, 2003) The International Sign Association (ISA) recently elected five new members to its 2004 Board of Directors. These new members join five others who were reelected to the 28-member board that represents ten membership divisions.

The new members are:

  • John H. Allen, Allen Industries, Greensboro, N.C. (National Sign Company Division)
  • Wayne Burton, Burton Electric Signs, Mount Airy, N.C. (Custom Sign Company Division, Southern Region)
  • Robert E. Mattatall, Mattatall Signs, Ltd., Dartmouth, Nova Scotia (Custom Sign Company Division, Canadian Region)
  • Tom Sanford, Huron Sign Co., Ypsilanti, Mich. (Custom Sign Company Division, Midwest Region)
  • Michael Wash, Gerber Scientific Products, South Windsor, Conn. (Product Manufacturers Division)

“There are a number of opportunities facing us this year,” said 2004 ISA Chairman Greg McCarter. “A top priority is to make sure that the quality of our trade shows continues to be high and to continue to grow those shows as we have done over the last five years.” Not only will the new board focus on the continued growth of ISA’s trade shows, it will also continue to advance ISA’s educational, technical, and legislative resources. “We’ll continue to keep on top of the legislative and technical challenges our members and the industry face,” said McCarter, of Tubelite Company, Inc. in Apoka, Fla. “We also want to take our educational products to the next level.”

McCarter continued, “I look forward to serving with the members of the ISA Board. They are all true professionals who put the sign industry first.”

ISA is a 2,200-member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 countries. ISA exists to support, promote and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
