Wasatch Introduces SoftRIP Service Data Uploader New Automated Technical Support Tool Makes Troubleshooting Trouble-Free

(January 9, 2004 - Salt Lake City, UT) - Wasatch Computer Technology has introduced an important new utility that streamlines the technical trouble shooting process at both ends. The Service Data Uploader is a standard feature that automatically sends key system configurations and settings directly to the Wasatch Technical Support Team via the Internet. Among the data collected and transmitted are printer settings, imaging configurations, software revision data and affected problem files.

Not only does this easy-to-use utility ensure that Wasatch diagnosis is based on accurate data, it also eliminates the need for users to answer numerous background questions from support personnel. As a result, the Service Data Uploader dramatically increases the speed and reliability with which technical problems can be analyzed and solved.

"In general, users have found new SoftRIP Version 5.0 very easy to use," says Wasatch Vice President Jay Griffin, "But with any software there will be times when you need a little extra help. The majority of the time required to troubleshoot software problems is spent conveying the user's specific settings and conditions. By automating this process our Technical Team can find answers faster and minimize any user downtime. Both new users and users implementing advanced workflows will really value this tool."

The Service Data Uploader (SDU) is easy to use, with no special software or expertise in FTP protocol required. After initiating the process via phone or e-mail, users launch the Uploader through the SoftRIP help menu. The user quickly enters basic contact information and a brief description of the problem. With an Internet connection and two clicks of the mouse the SDU automatically transmits the data to Wasatch Customer Service.

The Service Data Uploader is enabled and accessible during the free 90 day tech support package included the purchase of (or upgrade to) the current version of Wasatch SoftRIP.
