UltraVu® 3360 EC Used To Print Germany's Biggest Church Building Wrap

N3 Neelsen Print & Display GmbH, has used its new three-meter, eight-color, VUTEk® UltraVu® 3360 EC, to print the largest building wrap installed on a church in Germany.

Designed to raise money for the restoration of the building, the wrap features high quality images and color, displayed on three-quarters of the 115m high Church. Produced for the German bank Schwabisch Hall, the graphic proved very successful, delivering its sponsor's advertising to 250,000 inhabitants of the city of Lubeck, in North East Germany.

Due to superior reliability and ease of use, Neelsen was so confident of its new VUTEk® UltraVu® 3360 EC's capabilities, that it began printing the 60m x 18m wrap only 48 hours after installation.

As the 19th century building was very tall, the church graphic was printed onto mesh to withstand the effects of high wind. Completed in 16 hours, Neelsen utilized the UltraVu® 3360 EC's eight-colors and 360 dpi resolution, to reproduce bold colors used in the illustration of a fox's face.

The installation of the wrap enabled Schwabish Hall to take its promotional messaging to the heart of the city in a new and exciting way. But inevitably, the notion of using a church for advertising was one that caused significant debate. Many discussions took place within the church and the city's community, to overcome the political implications of such a project.

Andreas Riemann, Neelsen, co-owner explains, 'There is no denying that this project is controversial and took a while to progress. But, by changing the wrap every two months, the church soon realised that by 2006, it would have made enough money to pay for its restoration - faced with these facts, it decided to go ahead.'

According to Neelsen, its initial decision to purchase the UltraVu® 3360 EC, was due to VUTEk's long industry experience and reputation for high quality, reliable products and customer service.

Andreas continues, 'We gathered a lot of product information by visiting local trade exhibitions and making test prints. We quickly understood that the UltraVu® 3360 EC was the only three-meter product to guarantee print quality and speed of production - this was a real sales clincher. What's more, with its eight-colors, the UltraVu® 3360 EC was the most flexible product on the market offering a wide variety of application/market opportunities.'

The UltraVu® 3360 EC, three-meter, super-wide eight-color digital printer, offers the versatility of both high-speed and high-quality printing. Using its 360 dpi resolution, the UltraVu® 3360 EC produces images that are sharp, crisp and consistent - ideal for a wide variety of applications including, billboards, banners and signage, vehicle graphics, wall murals and point of purchase graphics.

Andreas continues, 'Since installation of our VUTEk® printer, we have already pushed the boundaries of conventional superwide applications. The machine is capable of so much more than the market requires - we can't wait to explore its full potential.'

Previously known as Neelsen Schildertechnik GmbH, N3 Neelsen Print and Display GmbH was established in 2003 as an independent company. Specializing in superwide digital printing, Neelsen Print and Display employs eight people, and produces a range of superwide applications for a client base including advertising agencies and direct customers.

Andreas concludes, 'We currently have a very aggressive business plan for the future. We are confident that the UltraVu® 3360 EC will provide the flexibility and reliability to enable us to meet our targets, and offer customers the most creative and cost efficient large format solutions in the area.'
