Seal Graphics Introduces New SEALŽ 80 Pro and SEALŽ Mounting Pouches at PMA 2004
PMA Trade Show, Las Vegas, NV, February 12, 2004: Seal Graphics Americas Corporation, a world leader in wide-format finishing, introduces its new SEALŽ 80 Pro laminator and new SEAL Mounting Pouches at the 2004 PMA International Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The SEAL 80 Pro allows a single operator to mount, laminate or encapsulate prints up to 80" (203 cm) wide. The new SEAL Mounting Pouches offer fast production of laminated rigid graphics from common-sized prints, using virtually any flat smooth substrate.
SEALŽ 80 Pro Laminator
The SEAL 80 Pro offers an impressive list of standard features. These include:
- Top and bottom heated rollers for pressure-sensitive or heat-activated applications.
- Precise, manual pressure adjustment with variable roller technology.
- Silicone main rollers, with a roller nip opening up to 1-1/2 inches.
- Variable temperature & speed control for the best performance with a range of films.
- 2 supply and 3 take-up shafts with Seal's auto-grip, drop-in features for easy loading.
- Pull rollers and cooling fans for smooth encapsulating applications.
- Fully adjustable, left and right side out-feed slitters for automatic trimming.
- Pivoting operator's console for convenient access from either side of the machine.
- Operating speeds up to 20 feet per minute, and comprehensive safety systems.
Yet according to Seal Graphics, it is the 80 Pro's material handling features, allowing one-person operation, that really set this laminator apart.
Previously, feeding an extra wide print into an 80" laminator was a two-person jobnot with the 80 Pro. The 80 Pro's innovative feed table incorporates a special in-feed roller and feed tray. An operator can place a rolled print in the feed tray, set the leading edge of the print under the in-feed roller, and with one hand turn the feed roller to guide the print into the main roller nip. Squaring guides and a feed roller-tensioning device ensure a straight, smooth feed.
For mounting prints onto boards, the 80 Pro's feed tray and roller retract into the feed table providing a flat, level surface. The unit's rear pull-rollers fold down, out of the way. In addition, both the entire feed table assembly and the pull-rollers can move up to allow access to the main rollers and lower shafts for webbing and maintenance. The table's movement is spring-assisted so a single operator can do it with ease. Plus, with its outer mechanisms folded up the 80 Pro will roll through a standard 36" wide doorway.
Finally, the 80 Pro's three take-up shafts feature Seal Graphics' "combi-shaft" technology, thus allowing them to be used as either take-ups or supplies. This affords a range of webbing options for advanced finishing applications. The shafts are completely interchangeable for maximum production flexibility.
With 80" capacity, hot or cold operation, a long list of standard features, and single-operator capability, the SEAL 80 Pro offers wide-format print producers a versatile image finishing systemone that offers the potential to capitalize on the competitive advantages of providing extra-wide graphics solutions.
SEALŽ Mounting Pouches
The new SEAL Mounting Pouches are comprised of a top layer of heat-activated laminating film and a layer of liner-less mounting adhesive. The two films are sealed at the top edge to form a pouch. Users simply insert their print face-up in the pouch, place the pouch on a substrate board and run it through a laminator with a top-heated roller. The Mounting Pouches are compatible with ProSEALŽ laminators and SEALŽ professional series laminators, as well as competitive brand machines.
The new pouches use SuperStickTM technology, which according to Seal Graphics, gives them a unique advantage. SuperStick is a liner-less, heat-assisted adhesive that combines the versatility of a pressure-sensitive film with the bond of a heat-activated product to bond securely to virtually any media or substrate.
SEAL Mounting Pouches are an economical way to produce rigid graphics that are ideal for posters, signs and presentation boards. The pre-sized pouches don't require users to web a laminator. They are available in boxes of ten, in either gloss or smooth matte finish. Sizes include 24" x 36", 30" x 40" and 36" x 48". The new Pouches are also eligible toward purchase-points in the "ProSEAL Buyers Club" program.
