Roland Expands Uncoated Media Lineup For Vehicle & Indoor Graphics
Irvine, CA. February 24, 2004 Roland DGA Corporation today introduced three new adhesive-backed vinyls and a glossy paper. As part of the Eco-SOL Media lineup, each has been tested, profiled and certified to provide accurate and consistent print results for VersaCAMM and SOLJET EX Series inkjets.
The three vinyls - glossy calendered vinyl and two cast vinyls - are especially easy to apply thanks to Avery's Easy Apply adhesive. Avery's patent pending technology reduces both wrinkles and trapped air. The vinyls also remove easily with minimal residue, making them ideal for producing vehicle graphics.
The 3.4 mil glossy calendered vinyl (ESM-GCEZ) images well and adheres nicely to clean, flat surfaces. It is a durable uncoated vinyl, but lamination is recommended to protect images from abrasion and chemical deterioration. ESM-GCEZ is offered in the following sizes: 54" x 75' roll, 30" x 75' roll and a 24" x 10' sample roll.
The two cast vinyls include glossy cast vinyl (ESM-PGEZ) and satin cast vinyl (ESM-PSEZ). Both are durable, uncoated 2 mil media that conform well to rivets and complex curves. These products are outdoor durable, but lamination is recommended for protection against abrasion and chemical deterioration. ESM-PGEZ is a high-quality 2 mil glossy adhesive-back vinyl with a bright white point and glossy surface. ESM-PSEZ is a high-quality 2 mil vinyl that has a low-luster finish. ESM-PGEZ and ESM-PSEZ are offered in the following sizes: 54" x 75' roll, 30" x 75' roll and a 24" x 10' sample roll.
The 7.5 mil Solvent Glossy Paper (ESM-SGP) has a good white point and gloss level for a wide variety of indoor graphic applications, including posters and POP displays. This product can be easily mounted and laminated. ESM-SGP is offered in the following sizes: 54" x 100' roll, 30" x 100' roll and a 24" x 10' sample roll.
Eco-SOL Media
Eco-SOL Media is developed especially for Roland Eco-SOL INK, which is used by VersaCAMM and SOLJET EX inkjet printers. It includes a wide selection of competitively priced, uncoated adhesive-backed vinyls and other popular substrates. The line-up currently consists of glossy, matte, clear and translucent calendared, premium cast vinyl, premium reflective vinyl, view-through vinyl, flame retardant scrim banner, blockout scrim banner and solvent glossy paper.
Roland also offers an additional 20 materials that optimize EX and VersaCAMM print quality. They include heat transfer material, backlit film, matte artist canvas and a high-quality matte paper in its SCM, PQM, PGM, PCM and VSM media line-ups.
