The VUTEk® PressVu® UV Wins DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out For The Second Year Running

VUTEk® Inc., the leading supplier of superwide format digital inkjet printers, has won the 9th Annual Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) Digital Printer Shoot-Out, in the Inkjet Flatbed category with its PressVu® UV 180/600 EC. This is the second year in a row that output produced on the PressVu® UV 180/600 EC has won the Inkjet Flatbed category in the competition.

Entrants in the DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out were given a 'target' file provided by DIMA. A panel of industry experts then voted on the displayed prints based on the overall quality of the digital print and the accuracy of the color, as compared to the 'target' print. According to the panel, the PressVu® UV scored consistently high in every category, ranging from color accuracy to overall quality. It out-scored the average in virtually every criteria in the Flatbed Inkjet Competition. In addition, the VUTEk® CSE ColorBurst RIP used with the PressVu® to generate the winning image, also won DIMA Shoot-Out Awards in other categories.

The PressVu® UV 180/600 EC is designed to produce superior photo quality images with fine text, line and photographic detail on substrates up to 1.8 meters wide, and is the only superwide digital inkjet printer available that offers eight-color capability with 600 dpi resolution on rigid or flexible substrates. The PressVu® UV 180/600 EC uses UV-curable inks that allow the direct printing of images onto a wider range of substrates than traditional digital print methods, minimizing variation in output appearance from substrate to substrate.
