LED Display Lights up Twentieth Television Studio With A New Look: An LED display for the 'On Air with Ryan Seacrest Show'

Los Angeles, California Twentieth Television has a new way of communicating with their audience, a LED display located on the exterior of their Hollywood studio, dedicated to the “On Air with Ryan Seacrest”, Fox hot new show. The eVidia LED display, manufactured by Multimedia Electronic Programmable Signs, was installed the first week of January 2004just in time for the premier of the widely promoted TV show. Located in the heart of Hollywood in the Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex, the display is situated on the South side of the building and acts as a liaison with the live audience and the crowd gathered outside the studio.

Twentieth Television wanted a display system, which is capable of broadcasting live video outside the studio as the show is being filmed. The idea is to engage the outside audience as they stand watching the show on the LED display. Twentieth Television wanted to pan their outside studio cameras over the outside “on air” audience, displaying the enthusiastic fans with the LED display in the backdrop. They also wanted to do live, interactive video interviews on the LED display. During the first week of the show, Ryan Seacrest interviewed a famous singer and songwriter Bono (from Sting) live via satellite feed on the eVidia LED screen.

The eVidia display incorporates software developed by Multimedia, called LIVE PLAYER. This software enables the screen to run a direct SDI feed; a process that is similar to those found on live news broadcast. Again, Multimedia delivered, manufacturing an eVidia LED display unit with in the short allotted two-month timeline.

Neither a plasma nor a projector would have exerted the brightness or resolution needed for the California sunshine; a LED display was the only choice. The final install was Multimedia’s latest product line, eVidia. The eVidia LED display is a 12mm pitch array of LED pixel clusters that measure 11’4” wide by 14’8” high. The sign is very slender, only 18” inches deep fastened to the polished exterior of the south side of the building. Twentieth Television needed a state-of-the-art LED display that was sleek and low profile, and they needed it in a very short time frame. Multimedia delivered.

Multimedia is a leading manufacturer of electronic programmable LED signs and displays, delivering quality products and backing them with a commitment to excellence in customer service. With major installations in high profile locations around the world, most notably in Times Square, NY, Multimedia has set the standard of excellence in the LED display industry for over 25 years.
