Tampa to Host NEHS March 6-8, 2005
FAIRFAX, VA - The tenth annual National Environmental, Health and Safety (NEHS) Conference for the Graphic Communications Industries will take place March 6-8, 2005, at the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza in Tampa, Florida.
Providing updates, useful case studies, certified training opportunities and networking functions, the NEHS Conference is the only national event designed to meet the needs of those responsible for environmental, health and safety compliance, regardless of printing process screen, digital, lithography, flexography, and/or gravure printing.
Major topics to be addressed at the NEHS 2005 include establishing environmental, health and safety policies; air permitting; common OSHA violations; recycling universal waste; ergonomics; facility security issues; establishing a “safety culture”; and more. Environmental, health and safety products from major industry suppliers will also be exhibited during the Conference.
All NEHS 2005 sessions will be presented by professionals at the forefront of environmental, safety and health issues affecting the graphic arts industries. Conference attendees will be able to choose from a variety of breakout sessions being offeredsome tailored to specific printing processes, with others designed for all printers, regardless of the production process used.
Attendees also will have an opportunity to participate in DOT HazMat training, which is required every three years. Offered as an optional, pre-conference session, the course is tailored to the needs of those engaged in the graphic communications industries.
The NEHS Conference is the largest industry event of its kind, and is a joint effort of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), Gravure Association of America (GAA), and the National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM). Many other groups from local printing associations to national specialty institutions and allied trade associations provide cooperative support.
