Lakewood Church Chooses Daktronics For Integrated Large Screen Video System
Brookings, S.D. - Daktronics, Inc. (Nasdaq - DAKT)
announced today that it has been chosen by Lakewood Church to design and
manufacture an integrated video display system for its new facility in
Houston, Texas. The value of the project is approximately $1.9 million,
with installation scheduled for early 2005.
Daktronics will provide a unique system that includes three ProStar®
video displays. The displays will be installed at Lakewood
Church-Central, a new facility for Lakewood Church that will host
concerts, family conferences, workshops and personal growth seminars.
The main arena will utilize Daktronics video technology to reach an
audience of over 16,000 viewers with vivid graphics, crisp video and
engaging animations.
The integrated display system will be among the most sophisticated of
any indoor facility, utilizing multiple full-color light emitting diode
(LED) displays to provide Lakewood Church members and guests with
ever-changing visuals. LED technology is the state-of-the-art in large
screen display technology, offering excellent visibility, brightness and
clarity.
Daktronics participated in a competitive 'shoot-out' that brought
multiple companies and their proposed technologies to Lakewood Church
for a final decision. A Daktronics ProStar® display and LED displays
from two other video display manufacturers were lined-up side by side to
compare image quality and other capabilities.
"Product, service and price were the criteria we needed to consider,"
said Duncan Dodds, the Executive Director of Lakewood Church. "From the
'shoot-out', we easily came to the conclusion Daktronics display had
the best image and provided better overall value. The video display
stood out amongst all of the others," said Dodds.
The ProStar® video technology's capabilities include the display of
brilliant video, custom animation, dazzling graphics and logos, and
dynamic text. Different content may be programmed to show on one or all
three of the displays simultaneously.
"It was our goal to purchase the best technology backed up by complete
and reliable service for our new facility," said Dodds.
Daktronics has strong leadership positions in, and is one of the world's
largest suppliers of, electronic scoreboards, computer-programmable
displays, large screen video displays and control systems. The Company

celebrated its 35th year in business in 2003.
