Roland Launches Wider & Faster VersaCAMM
IRVINE, CA. - Roland DGA Corporation today added a wider and faster eco-solvent printer/cutter to its VersaCAMM lineup. The new SP-540V accepts media up to 54 inches wide and is capable of printing durable graphics up to 114 sq ft/hr with a new 360x720 dpi billboard printing mode.
Like the 30-inch VersaCAMM SP-300, the SP-540V also represents a price/performance breakthrough. In addition to greater size and speed, the new inkjet features improved media handling, Ethernet connectivity and the all-new VersaWorks™ RIP. Applications include signs, banners, posters, vehicle and floor graphics, apparel decoration, decals and labels.
"At 54 inches wide, the new SP-540V will open up even more possibilities for graphics production," said Ken VanHorn, Roland DGA product manager. "Graphics professionals will be able to quickly print and cut durable full-size banners and vehicle wraps on uncoated media."
VersaCAMM printer/cutters use advanced Eco-SOL INK. The mild solvent ink prints on both coated and uncoated materials without any need for special ventilation or environmental equipment, yet it produces brilliant graphics that are water, scratch and UV resistant for up to 3-years outdoors. Eco-SOL INK comes in 220ml no-mess cartridges and is both safe to use and virtually odor free.
As an integrated printer/cutter, the VersaCAMM can automatically contour cut printed graphics without reloading or repositioning them. To laminate print & cut graphics, simply remove prints, laminate and reload them for precision cutting. The Quadralign® four-point optical registration system automatically realigns the cutting path and compensates for skew and distortion. The VersaCAMM also functions as a stand-alone vinyl cutter. This combination of printing and cutting in a single device significantly improves production speed and ease of use.

VersaWorks
Included with the SP-540V is an all-new software RIP. Roland developed the new RIP to be powerful, yet easy to use. Built upon the genuine Adobe® PostScript® CPSI 3016 engine, VersaWorks supports true Adobe PostScript 3. It features comprehensive color management tools and employs a graphical interface, ICC profiles and an automatic update feature. VersaWorks also includes convenient layout tools such as nesting and tiling.
Roland Print/Cut Family
The SP-540V is the latest addition to the Roland family of integrated printer/cutters. The new 54-inch inkjet is Roland's response to the demand for a larger, faster version of its hugely successful VersaCAMM. The four-color SP-300 established a new price/performance benchmark for unattended inkjet printing and contour cutting, while the six-color SOLJET SC540EX continues to offer top-of-the-line performance with print speeds up to 300 sq ft/hr at 450 dpi.
The SP-540V offers enormous value while filling the gap between the SP-300 and SC-540EX. Leasing options are available on all Roland products.
