Anderson Elected To Council Of Manufacturing Associations Board

Alexandria, VA The Council of Manufacturing Associations elected International Sign Association (ISA) President and CEO Lori Anderson to a three-year term on its Board of Directors. The Council, an allied organization of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), represents the interests of America’s small manufacturers.

“While NAM represents American manufacturing as a whole, the Council represents individual segments in that industry,” Anderson said. “It’s the voice of smaller manufacturers, and many of ISA’s members fit into that group.” Anderson said that part of her role on the 2005 Board will be to educate manufacturers on the importance the sign industry is to America’s economy, and to lend ISA’s clout to issues that have an impact on the manufacturing community. “The idea is to add ISA’s voice to the collective voice of the country’s small manufacturers,” she said.

ISA benefits from Anderson’s participation on the Board, too. “This is an opportunity to get to know the supply side of our business,” she said. “The Council represents the metals industry, the plastics industry, the glass industry, and others. These are the materials people use to make signs. We’re all in this together.”

Anderson has worked with NAM in other capacities in the past, including serving on the association’s government relations and China committees.

ISA is a 2,200 member organization composed of manufacturers, users, and suppliers of on-premise signs and sign products produced by more than 400,000 employees in all 50 states and 69 foreign countries. ISA exists to support, promote, and improve the $30 billion-a-year sign industry, which sustains the nation’s nearly $3 trillion-a-year retail industry.
