SGIA Sets Membership Record

FAIRFAX, VA - More specialty graphic imaging companies became members of SGIA in 2004 than any other time in its 56 year history. Citing benefits such as full access to SGIA.org, ASSIST, and money-saving discounts, 795 imaging companies joined the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association last year.

SGIA’s 2004 membership growth reflects a 26 percent increase in new members over 2003. Moreover, membership growth is almost double that of 2002 and considerably more than twice the number of imagers becoming members in 2000. “More and more printers are enjoying a competitive advantage thanks to SGIA membership,” says Sondra Fry Benoudiz, the Association’s Vice President for Membership and Marketing.

SGIA membership categories comprise Corporate Printers, Individual Printers, Suppliers, In-Plant Printers, and Educational Institutions. The $149 Individual Printer category was introduced in 2003, making membership affordable for people who want to improve their knowledge base.

“When SGIA opened up membership to individuals at a low yearly fee, I was finally able join and take advantage of the vast resources they offer for screen printers,” said Steve Rosenberry who joined as an Individual Member in 2003.

“Over the course of a year, my business grew to where it became necessary for me to upgrade my membership and take advantage of the Federal Express shipping discount offered to Corporate Members. This discount has allowed me to triple my screen printing business. I am now able to compete with screen printers all over the U.S. because I can ship to anywhere at a very low cost.”

“SGIA has enabled me to make my business very profitable. Thanks to SGIA my business is bigger than I could have imagined, and I’ve been a member for only a year.”
