Cooley COOLFLEX® Scores at Dolphins Stadium - COOLFLEX® Is The Product of Choice for Stadium Design
Visitors to Dolphins Stadium, (formerly Pro Player Stadium) in Miami, Florida will see a brilliant display of colorful digital printing including an 1100-foot wall surrounding the interior perimeter of the playing field and two 25’ x 40’ tunnel covers.
The first of its kind, the impressive wall was designed, printed and installed by Burton Imaging Group, with locations in Philadelphia, PA, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Burton chose Cooley COOLFLEX® seamless 12 ounce digital printing substrate for the project. "We are very familiar with COOLFLEX and have a significant level of comfort with quality of the product," says Scott Segen, CEO of Burton Imaging Group.
COOLFLEX 12 ounce is a seamless flexible digital printing substrate manufactured by Cooley Digital Products, located in Pawtucket, RI. While COOLFLEX is considered to be primarily a billboard substrate, because if its versatility it is also used in many specialty applications like the Dolphins Stadium project.
Ed Silva, Vice President and Business Manager for Cooley Digital Products had this to say, "Burton needed to know that the colors and images would be consistent from one end of the stadium to the other. They had the ability to do this by controlling their print quality and by using COOLFLEX, which assured them of a consistent white-base media that could maintain proper color balance. Any variation in tones in the Dolphins team colors would not be acceptable, so by choosing the right media for the project Burton knew they were starting from a point of dependability."
The inside field wall was installed on the field from 8’ x 40’ panels which were printed on a Scitex XL Jet printer. The entire project is estimated to have taken Burton Imaging Group just over one week, including printing, finishing and construction of the wall and tunnel covers.
Cooley Digital Products manufactures a variety of substrates for billboards, banners, truckside applications and transit shelters, as well as a full range of other products for use in digital printing such as backlit fabrics and mesh products. Cooley digital substrates can be seen around the world enhancing the image of many outdoor advertisers such as Calvin Klein, the Gap, and Old Navy.
Cooley Digital Products is headquartered in Pawtucket, RI with manufacturing plants and offices in Rhode Island and South Carolina, with warehouses located in Nevada and New Jersey.
