Innovators and Innovation Join Forces at SGIA’s 2005 Membrane Switch Symposium
FAIRFAX, VA - The industry’s 2005 Membrane Switch Symposium takes place June 15-16 at the Adam’s Mark Airport Hotel in Indianapolis, IN. Sponsored by the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association and co-hosted by Nor-Cote International (Crawfordsville, IN) and American Ultraviolet Company (Lebanon, IN), this year’s Symposium features a number of firsts.
In addition to a state-of-the-art program of topics, SGIA’s 2005 Symposium introduces the Membrane Switch Innovation of the Year Award, debuts a networking trade show, and, for the first time, features SGIA Golden Image Awards for Membrane Switches on site.
Current exhibitors include a who’s-who list of companies of specific interest to the membrane switch industry: Acheson Colloids Company, ALMAX, American Ultraviolet Company, Autotype Americas, FLEXcon, Form-X, Hewlett Packard Company, Lumitex, Mathias Die Company, Mimaki USA, Nazdar, Nicomatic-North America, Nor-Cote International, Spraylat, 3M Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division, Thrust Industries, and Zund America … with more to come as the event approaches.

- Industrial Inkjet Printing of Single-Layer Electronics
- Design Considerations for Embedded LEDs
- Advances in Laser Technology for Membrane Switches
- Membrane Switch Production Automation & Subcontracting
- The Precision Print Project
- RFID: Practical Considerations of Printing Conductive Materials
The 2005 Symposium will feature a kick-off golf tournament at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Brickyard Crossing Golf Resort, followed by a welcome reception and trade show for networking. In addition to a continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and reception sandwiching the series of educational programs on June 16, an evening tour of the Panther Racing Facility tops off the two days dedicated to exploring, first-hand, news and events impacting this vital sector of the imaging industry.
All social functions — i.e., the opening reception, continental breakfast, lunch, breaks, awards displays and presentations — will be held in a large ballroom with a perimeter of exhibits catering specifically to membrane switch production needs.
SGIA has negotiated room rates of just $99 per night (single/double) at the Adam’s Mark, an outstanding hotel that’s both close to the airport and just a short cab ride to downtown Indianapolis. Discount airfares and Adams Mark shuttle service to/from the airport will be available to Symposium participants.

SGIA is Leading a New Generation of Imaging Professionals — “Specialty imaging” comprises digital imaging, screen printing and the many other imaging technologies SGIA members use, including those they’ll tap in the future. These are the imaging processes and technologies employed to create new products and to enhance existing products including point-of-purchase displays, signs, advertisements, garments, containers, and vehicles. To make the most of your specialty imaging business, take full advantage of SGIA.org and experience the specialty graphic imaging industry first-hand at SGIA’05 (September 28October 1, New Orleans, Louisiana).
