Global Imaging places its first Colorspan UV printer in the FASTSIGNS network and proves owner benefits immediately.

Global Imaging has been a recommended vendor of large format equipment and supplies for the FASTSIGNS network since 2002. As a recommended dealer, Global introduces new technologies for evaluation to FASTSIGNS ® corporate that may eventually become recommended products for the FASTSIGNS franchises. In Q4 of 2004, Global began introductions of the Colorspan UVR, UV-curable flatbed printer into FASTSIGNS corporate. In January of 2005, early adopter John Mark Stroud, owner of a FASTSIGNS in Ashville, NC purchased a Colorspan UVR for his store.

After resolving issues with the initial printer placement, John feels he has a printer that will contribute to his store's success. John sited a double-sided sign project he recently completed on .040 aluminum. In the past these signs were completed by cutting and weeding vinyl and mounting onto aluminum, more recently by printing on a solvent printer and mounting to aluminum. With the Colorspan UVR John was able to print directly onto both sides of the aluminum, and send the large sheets through his router to cut them out. This new workflow cut his production time by more than 70% and cut his costs by 50%.

Global showcased the Colorspan UVR at the January FASTSIGNS franchise convention, with very positive response. Global is the only recommended dealer for the Colorspan UVR printer in the FASTSIGNS network. Along with the printer, Global integrates Onyx software, supplies and up to five days of professional training on this integrated solution for the FASTSIGNS network as well other national clients looking for specialists in print integration.
