Scitex Vision TURBOjet Creates Competive Edge For Masterprint XL
Netanya, Israel - Masterprint XL is a 6-year-old Polish
printer with the ambition to set the standards for the competitive Polish
wide format market. Established in 1999 in Posnan, Masterprint XL quickly
gained a loyal set of clients for their super-wide format outdoor
applications, produced on the Scitex Vision Grandjet. Its clients soon
ranged from small design agencies, to household names such as Whirlpool,
Honda and Danone.
In February 2003, Masterprint XL took the decision to invest in a Scitex
Vision TURBOjet wide format printer. Managing Director, Lukasz Mielcarek,
remembers, "Our local market had become increasingly competitive, and we
needed something that would set us apart from the competition. The Polish
market competes mainly on price and quality, so that's where we saw our
opportunity".
The decision to acquire a TURBOjet has not only brought the additional
attributes of top-speed and quality to the business. Mielcarek notes, "The
TURBOjet has delivered much more than it promised, we are constantly
surprised at the variety of substrates it can print on, from PVC to
banners and polystyrene, and the printed quality has far surpassed our
initial expectations for it."
Masterprint XL soon discovered that the TURBOjet was pushing its business
forward in a whole new direction, while expanding their customer base
considerably along the way. The two main factors, which Mielcarek feels
have been integral in this change, are the superb quality and speed with
which the Scitex Vision TURBOjet can turn a job around. The ability to
print up to 400m²/hr (4,304 ft2/hr) makes it the fastest wide format
digital system in today's market, allowing Masterprint XL to meet
ever-decreasing turnaround times, whilst maximising the use of the
printer.
Not only has the business been able to expand dramatically, but it has
been able to use the high quality printed results that the TURBOjet
produces, through a combination of sharp text and clear point sizes as
small as 8 points, to take a leading position in the production of indoor
signage, window and exhibition graphics, and bus shelters, where close
viewing is essential. These are all new markets for Masterprint XL.
For Masterprint XL, its jobs are its best calling cards and the most
effective pieces of self-promotion possible. One of its clients was
recently quoted in a national newspaper, stating that the only company in
Poland who could print their job was Masterprint XL.
A recent job carried out on the TURBOjet makes Mielcarek particularly
proud. "We had very little time to turn a 700m² self-adhesive vinyl job
around, and I knew that the fastest and most cost efficient way to do it,
whilst still guaranteeing the top quality required, would be on the
TURBOjet. Using its user-friendly interface, the operators were able to
print the window graphics to a really high quality standard in just four
hours." However, it didn't end there, as Masterprint XL is not just a
printer, but a full service company capable of applying any graphics that
they produce. According to Mielcarek that was the hard part, with this
particular job taking five days to install.
Masterprint XL's success lies not only in its ability to meet tight
deadlines with high quality, cost-effective products, but also through
being a full service agency. It has its own design studio that checks all
colour margins and files, as ensuring colour quality is of the utmost
importance to Masterprint XL and its clients. The company recently
achieved ISO 9001 status for its strict standards, and stands out from its
competitors by going out of the way to ensure customer satisfaction.
Currently, the machines at Masterprint XL are working to capacity, 24/7.
So Mielcarek has taken the decision to expand the business once more with
the help of Scitex Vision, and has just placed an order for an XLjet 5+
super-wide format press. It will enable Masterprint XL to step up its
competitiveness through printing stunning indoor and outdoor super-wide
graphics. Mielcarek has high hopes for the new press and the business that
it will bring in, and is sure that it will continue to build on the strong
reputation of the company. At this rate Masterprint XL will be taking
Poland by storm in the not too distant future.
