SGIA Notes Impact of ADA Revisions on Assn Members

Fairfax, Virginia - When issues mean time and money, the specialty imaging community turns to SGIA and SGIA.org. This month, the SGIA.org Government Affairs One-Stop Shop summarizes suggested revisions to the Americans with Disabilities Act — proposed changes that could lead to considerable expense for US printers and manufacturers.

“These proposed changes to U.S. federal law would have a major impact on specialty imagers. The Government Affairs One-Stop Shop on SGIA.org is the most efficient way to relay this, critically important information,” said Marci Kinter, Vice President, SGIA Government Affairs.

The Association posts regular updates to this and other issues regularly, and when the overhauled site launches, with its new look and navigation, in mid-July, they’ll be easier to find and read, Kinter added.

“If business people like SGIA members are to be heard on ADA and other issues that affect their day-to-day business, we must give them information they need to understand the landscape.”

The landscape Kinter mentions goes beyond the border of any single country. “Global Focus” is a highlight of the One-Stop Shop, with updates from Canada, Latin America and the European Union currently online. (Some items are available in Spanish or French as well as English.)

“That’s just a starting point,” Kinter notes. “We’re constantly posting additional information to make SGIA members’ business lives easier.”

To find the Government Affairs One-Stop Shop, use the “Resource” button on the SGIA.org navigation bar.

SGIA is Leading a New Generation of Imaging Professionals — “Specialty imaging” comprises digital imaging, screen printing and the many other imaging technologies SGIA members use, including those they’ll tap in the future. These are the imaging processes and technologies employed to create new products and to enhance existing products including point-of-purchase displays, signs, advertisements, garments, containers, and vehicles. To make the most of your specialty imaging business, take full advantage of the information on SGIA.org. Then, experience the specialty graphic imaging industry first-hand at SGIA’05 (September 28October 1, New Orleans, Louisiana).
