DuPont™ Artistri™ Showcased at Largest Graphic Communications Show in the World

CHICAGO, IL ­ DuPont™ Artistri™ digital printing for textiles will be showcased today at the Print ’05 Show in Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center (booth #7846). The system will be printing live during the seven-day event and beautiful, unique digitally-printed textiles will be featured in an innovative tension fabric display.

“This is the first time DuPont™ Artistri™ is presented to the commercial printing industry. To effectively communicate the benefits and new market potential of beautiful fabrics and graphics digitally printed on textiles to Print ’05 attendees, we designed a gallery to showcase commercial work our customers printed using their Artistri™ systems,” said Gary Turner, market development manager. “Having the DuPont™ Artistri™ 2020 actually printing in our booth always creates significant interest and the gallery of commercial work helps attendees better understand the different end-use markets and opportunities for textile printing using our technology.”

DuPont™ Artistri™ combines over 70 years of DuPont innovation and expertise in textile fibers with its knowledge of digital ink. This fully integrated digital textile printing system includes the DuPont™ Artistri™ 2020 printer, DuPont™ Artistri™ ink, and DuPont™ Artistri™ software. Unlike other digital systems that print on fabric, DuPont™ Artistri™ ink is optimized to print directly on a wide range of fabrics and is available in formulations that result in dynamic, eye catching color and durability.

Customers around the world are using the system for demanding applications such as the printing of swimwear, interior furnishings, banners, flags and backdrops, soft signage and trade show booth graphics. DuPont is now focusing on the printing industry at Print ‘05 where the benefit of digitally printed textiles could translate into new opportunities and markets.

The tension fabric display in the DuPont booth was created for DuPont by Transformit, a Gorham, Maine, based tension-fabric structure design and manufacturing company.

Collaborators in the DuPont Gallery project for digitally printed textiles include Portland Color, Evan Evans, D&R Industries and Image Options, Inc., who used their DuPont™ Artistri™ systems to print commercial work for the gallery.
