Dallas Area Rapid Transit Enhances Communication with Exhibio Display System
Amherst, New York---The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) recently installed the Exhibio™ digital signage system to enhance employee communication. Exhibio™ is a device used to create, integrate and schedule content shown on LCD and plasma displays.
The system drives a display located in the operator lounge in DART’s east Dallas division. The display showcases key performance indicators from the transit authority’s four divisions. This enables operators to measure their performance against others, motivates them to perform better and allows them to visualize how their personal efforts contribute to the overall organization. About 350 operators in the division view the display on a daily basis, which also includes news, benefits and essential safety information along the side panels.
“Everybody sees the big screen, and the color and the motion,” said Steve Meyer, Project Manager at DART.
The display replaced posters that were put up on a quarterly basis to show performance indicators. DART plans to implement more displays and Exhibio™ units in the near future.
“I felt the biggest benefit was the administrative part of [the system], where you could control who had access to it [and] who had access to what parts of it,” said Meyer. “In a big agency like this, that’s important,” he added.
Dallas Area Rapid Transit serves about 700 square miles of the north Texas area, transporting passengers by rail, bus, HOV lane and ride share services.
