Minicom to showcase its Video-Over-CAT5 distribution systems for digital signage at Government Video Expo

Minicom Advanced Systems, a leading provider of audio/video distribution systems for the digital signage market, will be demonstrating its innovative Video-Over-CAT5 distribution solutions at the Government Video Expo in Washington DC's convention center, Nov. 30 -Dec.1.

Minicom specializes in content distribution solutions for the last mile of digital display networks. Minicom video distribution systems can be found in government installations such as Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), military training rooms, post offices, and subway systems - wherever there's a need to drive home critical messages to the public.

Minicom's Video Display System (VDS) can distribute content in real-time from any type of computer/ player to any type of screen. It transmits high quality video and audio over standard CAT5 cable to multiple screens over long distances of up to 110m/360 ft.

"When you use a VDS system, you don't need additional computing power at the display side. For large digital display networks, this can add up to big savings. The VDS is the best value for the distance on the market today," added Dave.

Minicom KVM and video extenders provide real-time control for critical PSAP and control room installations. They allow the consolidation of servers for both maintenance improvement and sound and space considerations while providing real time video and control at a dispatch or control location.
