Outdoor Industry Retains Miller Kaplan
Washington, D.C. - The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) has retained the services of certified public accountants Miller, Kaplan, Arase & Co., LLP, to gather and provide monthly outdoor industry revenues. The audited data will enable the outdoor industry to provide meaningful comparative analyses for advertisers and investors that illustrate the strength of the medium. According to Stephen Freitas, chief marketing office for OAAA, “The Miller Kaplan service will allow OAAA and its members to present with confidence the size, scope, and viability of its media. “
Since 1980, Miller Kaplan has provided monthly revenue estimates for more than 2000 radio stations in 160 markets, in addition to other media clients. The service has become a vital and valued means for the radio business to gage its growth over time and a credible mechanism for comparing the industry to other media segments.
All information submitted will be held in strict confidence under the guidelines of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and reported in aggregate to OAAA on behalf of the industry. This first report will be issued in January 2006.
The OAAA is the largest trade association representing the outdoor advertising industry. It is dedicated to leading and uniting a responsible outdoor advertising industry that is committed to serving the needs of consumers, advertisers and the public. The OAAA’s nearly 1,000 member companies generate more than $5 billion annually in ad revenues, representing more than 90% of industry income, and donate space to charitable organizations in excess of $350 million each year.
The OAAA issues full industry revenue estimates that include, but are not limited to, Miller Kaplan, CMR’s data on outdoor, member company affidavits, and media projections based on a mix of recognized nationally syndicated data sources.
