FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
U.S. Market for PVC Flexible Substrates Reaches $375 Million in 2005 According to a Recent Report by Web Consulting
Boston, MA - The value of the U.S. market for PVC banner and PVC flexible substrates used for signage and graphics applications by wide and grand format graphics printers is estimated at $375 million according to a recent study published by Web Consulting. The report is supported by primary research from more than 2,100 U.S. end user surveys conducted in 2005 by Web Consulting.
According to Lisa Onesto, Senior Consultant, “Users employ a variety of decoration methods including cut vinyl, screen printing, digital printing, paint, and eradication. And while each decorative method and application produced are growing at various rates, the 2005 U.S. PVC and Flexible Substrates Report states that the overall U.S. market for these products is growing at 7% per year.”
Including profiles of most major supplier of PVC products, the 2005 U.S. PVC and Flexible Substrates Report also states that non-U.S. manufactured product represents nearly one quarter of the total volume of PVC banner and flexible substrates purchased for signage and graphics applications in the U.S.
End-user segments analyzed include sign shops, screen printers, digital print shops, photo labs, reprographics houses, quick print shops, and billboard & grand format print shops. While the report analyzes all of the most common applications produced, including banners, flexible graphics, flexible signage, building wraps, billboards and other specialty grand format graphic applications, Web Consulting believes that solvent inkjet banner material, flexible signage substrates, grand format alternative outdoor substrates, and transit/street furniture PVC substrates will outpace overall market growth.
