SGIA Imaging Symposiums Connect Digital Users
Canadian attendees networked and learned new solutions
Fairfax, Virginia — Digital imaging technology users, suppliers and manufacturers recently converged in Vancouver and Toronto for SGIA’s 2006 Imaging Symposiums to discuss practice methods for digital imaging success. Everyone left with more than what they expected.
“One of the biggest benefit from this symposium was the open, roundtable discussion between different segments of the marketplace — from those who had everything in screen printing and nothing in digital to those who did nothing but digital,” said Roland DGA Corp. Product Manager Tony Miller, who gave two presentations at the Vancouver session.
“The customer-to-customer communication made this event very valuable,” he added.
Dan Marx, SGIA Vice President, Markets & Technologies, said the two-day networking symposiums achieved SGIA’s main goal: Giving technology users direct access to the information they need to advance their specialty imaging operations.
“Participants had the opportunity to learn from presentations on essential day-to-day digital issues — achieving acceptable color, the advantages and limitations of inkjet consumables, moving from print to product and managing challenges. The networking opportunities also gave them the chance to learn from each other and connect with experts,” Marx said.
While industry speakers covered a wide range of topics within the digital imaging sphere, they kept this message in the forefront for digital consumers: Digital imaging is a process, and the decisions you make during that process can directly affect your profitability and output quality.
“It was interesting how the presentations were all linked together. Even though different manufacturers were speaking, they were all preaching a similar message,” Miller said.
SGIA will extend the successful 2006 Imaging Symposiums, with sessions in Chicago (May 2223) and Providence, Rhode Island (May 2425) later this month. Visit SGIA.org today to register.
